Journalistic Standards

- Avoid conflicts of interest.
- Refrain from accepting gifts or favors that might influence reporting.

5. Accountability and Corrections
- Admit and correct mistakes quickly and transparently.
- Be responsible for the consequences of one's reporting.

6. Ethical Sourcing and Anonymity
- Respect the confidentiality of sources, especially when anonymity is requested for safety.
- Avoid using anonymous sources unless necessary.

7. Harm Minimization
- Consider the impact of reporting on individuals and society.
- Be sensitive to the subjects of stories, particularly vulnerable people.

8. Avoidance of Plagiarism
- Always attribute information and quotes to the original source.
- Do not copy others' work without proper credit.

9. Clear Separation of News and Opinion
- Clearly differentiate between factual reporting and opinion or commentary.
- Ensure that opinions do not influence the presentation of news.

10. Respect for Privacy
- Balance the public's right to know with individuals' right to privacy.
- Avoid unnecessary intrusion into people's private lives.
